When entering absences for staff or entering room closures, you can enter the absence/closure by period or time range.
Selecting by period is currently only available when selecting a single date of closure.
Week allocations are defined within the Timetable Manager module. Without those allocations, you cannot assign cover, but those allocations also specify which timetable week applies for each week.
At the moment, when entering absences/closures, the onus is on the person entering the cover to know which timetabled week applies. If the incorrect week is selected, the absence and/or cover will not correctly filter through the system.
As the week allocations are already available within iSAMS, it would be great if, on selecting the date and choosing to enter by period, if the available period selections reflected the specific date already selected in the dialogue.
Further to this, if the date selected is a Tuesday, the period allocation selection should only show periods which reflect the week allocations. At the moment, it is possible to enter a date for Tuesday (say) but select Monday as the timetable day. No validation takes place to warn the end user that there is an inconsistency between the date selected and timetable day.
